Are you ready for an amazing girls getaway like you’ve never experienced before? These magical New Mexico retreats overflow with goodness including: healing hot springs, gentle yoga, delicious food, rest, nature walks, crafting projects, free time, sisterhood and FUN! Come soak in the sacred waters, detox from stress and technology, gain clarity on your purpose in life, and return home with more joy, spaciousness and ease. We will gather at the Mothership Yoga Lounge (named as one of the Top 10 Yoga Studios in NM), a beautifully-transformed 100-year-old adobe church in downtown Truth or Consequences – a short walking distance to all of the art galleries, coffee shops and quirkiness this town has to offer. Co-owner Shayna Turner has been facilitating women’s gatherings here for over 10 years. She still marvels at how each person gets exactly what they need in unique ways. One of last year’s participants said: “This weekend was one of the most transformative, memorable and soul-nourishing experiences of my life! I highly recommend for deep retreat and recharging.” Another said, “I felt safe and free of judgement.”
No yoga experience is necessary. Feel free to come alone or with friends – all are welcome.

A profound letting go occurs when soaking in these ancient, sacred waters. The natural heat, purity, and minerals (with no smell) makes it easy to slow down and breathe deep. It is true medicine for the body and soul. We will share sisterhood soaks at sunset and under the stars in our spacious and private Crystal Waterfall tub. The hot mineral water is filled fresh from the Mother Earth before each soak.
Daily yoga and chanting are designed to make your body and mind feel both energized and relaxed. Classes will be gentle, allowing us to chill out and feel good throughout the weekend. No experience is necessary! Shayna's upbeat and playful style is accessible to all. You can also use this time to do your own stretching, lie down, or skip class and take a nap. There is no pressure.
Food & Community
All food is included, except one dinner when we will be free to explore town. Meals will be healthy and delicious and all dietary restrictions will be accommodated. Snacks and drinks will be available throughout the day. Feel free to BYOB to dinner if you'd like. The Mothership studio & residence will be open all day to soak, sit by the fire, stretch in the studio, have tarot readings or drink tea with friends.
A walking tour of the town's historic bath house district and art galleries will be offered; as well as an easy hike alongside the Rio Grande; a creative and inspiring art-making session; a labyrinth walk and meditation; opening and closing circles; plus plenty of free time for walking around town, journaling, or relaxing in hammocks. Each retreat is different and always offers surprises.
Retreat Cost & Lodging:
Early bird registration is available now for both retreats! Early bird for October retreat (available until September 1, 2019) and February retreat (until November 1, 2019) is $595. After early bird deadlines the cost will be $695. SPACE IS LIMITED SO BE SURE TO REGISTER ASAP!
You choose your own lodging: we recommend several cozy and charming places around town, all of which include soaking in the hot springs and are within a very short walking distance to the Mothership. Lodging prices range from $50 per person per night to share a room to $200 per night for your own luxury room. We recommend: our private casitas Casa Mañana and the Teal Cottage (which have the option to connect with each other); the Santa Fe-style Sierra Grande Lodge & Spa, the beautiful Firewater Lodge, the tranquil La Paloma, and the Rio Grande view at Riverbend Hot Springs. You absolutely can’t go wrong with any of these, but we would be happy to offer personal recommendations based on what you’re looking for and the number in your party.

The Albuquerque and El Paso airports are both an easy 2-hour drive to Truth or Consequences. Book flights and rental cars ASAP for best fares. Southwest Airlines has especially good deals if you book in advance. It’s an adventure to get to this middle-of-nowhere spot, but it’s sooo worth it when you arrive! Please let me know if you’d like assistance coordinating flights or rental cars with others.
Shayna Samuels Turner has been teaching yoga since 2001. She did her 200-hour teacher training in vinyasa (flow) style at OM Yoga Center in Manhattan and studied meditation at Shambhala Centers around the country. She has also studied kundalini, Iyengar and various hatha methods and incorporates all of her tools into her classes. Shayna studied modern dance at UC Berkeley; was a professional dancer in San Francisco; and wrote about dance for the New York Times, Dance Magazine, Paper Magazine, and more. She has been chanting for over 20 years and recently learned to play harmonium so she can now lead her own chanting in yoga classes. She received her Reiki I certification in Rishikesh, India. Shayna is currently a sub at Raj Yoga and Little Yoga Studio in Boulder, Colorado. She believes that yoga, dance, singing and conscious breathing are incredibly helpful tools to create strength, flexibility and ease in body and mind and loves to share these tools with others!
